Coronaviruses cause respiratory infections, such as the common cold, however, they can include strains that cause more severe illnesses such as COVID-19. COVID is classes as a pandemic as the disease has affected whole countries across the world. The virus can survive on surfaces and food. The virus (pathogen) spreads from where it lands and reproduces itself (the R Rate) and affects other organisms.
In simple terms coming into contact with the coronavirus (a person already infected) can transfer the virus to you via coughing or sneezing. The virus enters your body when inhaled through your mouth and eyes usually by dirty or unwashed hands.
To protect our clients and employees from infection we have adapted a new, consistent approach to our working practices. At PBC our response to this has been to carry out a thorough risk assessment, which we have documented and published, together with our COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Policy, which we will continue to review and monitor. These documents can be reviewed on our website and we actively encourage all clients to read them prior to your first appointment.
Exceptional standards of hygiene and the use of PPE will be paramount and you can review our approach via our policy. To help you understand your role within the salon as a client, we have amended our consultation process. A copy can be previewed on our website and will be published via our social media channels. You will be emailed a copy of this prior to your first appointment. Please read, print a copy, sign it and return to salon. If you are not able to print this, we will have a copy for you to sign at your first appointment.
Cleaning and disinfecting the salon is already a key priority within our salon environment however PBC have introduced new measures, the detail of which can be read via our risk assessment.
